Another super Craft Power Hour from Symphony IRI Group’s sr veep Dan Wandel. Total craft segment up 15% yr-to-date thru Jul 8 in SIG Supers using SIG definition (which includes CBA, IBU and a few others). That’s 7th straight yr of double digit growth, currently at 11 share of $$. BA-defined craft growing a couple of points faster, with $$ up 17% and at 9 share in supers. Top 15 SIG craft brewers are about 70 share of total craft $$ in foodstores, but lost 2.5 share of $$ YTD.
Boston Beer craft $$ down 0.9% and lost 2.5 share of segment itself, down to 16.1 in YTD SIG data. The big gainers are Sierra and Lagunitas each up 0.5 share and New Belgium up 0.4 share. Lagunitas jumped to #8 craft brewer in SIG. Craft Brewers Alliance down 0.7 share, Gambrinus lost 0.5 and NAB lost 0.5 of segment. But 9 of top 15 up double digits. Bell’s and Abita also gained 0.2 share of segment $$.
