Memorial Day Discounting By Miller and Heineken in Supers

Don’t want to make too much of 1-week data, but this just in and unusually interesting. Avg price paid for Miller brands down 0.7% for week of Memorial Day in supers, according to Goldman Sachs report of IRI data, while avg Heineken prices down 4.6%. Beer biz down 0.6% for the week, but Miller nearly held share with more aggressive pricing, while Heineken volume zoomed 23%. AB share growth "slowed" to 0.8 and Coors dropped 0.5 share.
