Publix is BOGO-happy while Jewel is offering 99&cent; Vitaminwater and Powerade. Those are some of bev deals that came on our radar thru unscientific perusal of flyers at key grocery, mass merch and drug chains ahead of Thanksgiving entertaining period. With American consumers showing signs of skittishness about economy's health and their own job prospects, grocers seem to be tilting toward taking more aggressive tacks to drive traffic. But we saw few signs of dealing on robust categories like energy, aside from a few deals on C4 and Bloom Energy brand that C4 is helping incubate.
