Here's something we haven't seen in a while: a veritable slew of craft openings (including two brand-new breweries!). Chattanooga, TN's about to open a new Minor League Baseball stadium this Spring, and it'll have a new neighbor, as Creature Comforts Brewing is set to open a beer garden inside a former U.S. Pipe foundry building next door, reports the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Both the stadium and the beer garden are set to open in time for the Chattanooga Lookouts' opening game on Apr 14. The foundry building is a temporary space for Creature Comforts, which plans to eventually occupy "a permanent location next door along the Tennessee Riverwalk." "The Beer Garden is more than a taproom - it's a front row seat to Chattanooga's next great chapter in the development of the Foundries District," Creature Comforts prexy and CEO Adam Beauchamp said. Recall, co recently opted to close its Los Angeles brewpub in Downtown LA that never fully caught on, keeping its following expansion much closer to home. It also just added NC distribution for the first time, largely with the AB network. Construction is underway on the project, which is awaiting an Alc Bev Control license for a small beer manufacturer, and co said is expected to open later this yr. Alvarado St has three active taproom and sells beer at Cardinale Stadium, home of the minor-league Monterey Bay FC soccer team. The co has had a steady growth track since 2020, growing from ~10K bbls produced that year to ~17K in 2024, per BA estimates.Long Live VooDoo in Erie VooDoo Brewing is reopening in Erie, PA, just weeks after shutting down, according to Your Erie. New owner Jeff Chiaramonte and his family said the location would reopen as a franchise location on Mar 7 after closing under corporate ownership in mid-Jan (see Jan 9 issue). "The hope is that it becomes what it was when it started," said Jeff, who was a familiar face at VooDoo's previous iteration as an emcee for various events. VooDoo reported 5K bbls produced in 2024 to the BA, and Jeff said he was committed to "resurrecting the good vibes" of the old spot.Burned Beard in Tallahassee There's a brand-new brewery in Tallahassee, FL: Burned Beard, which opened as a bar in Dec but recently completed its licensing requirements to become a brewpub and is already rolling out new beers, per the Tallahassee Democrat. Located in the state capital's historic Downtown Quincy Main Street Square, its Quinc-IPA is now available on draft. The co's name is inspired by a pharmacist who worked at the building long ago and who supposedly set his facial hair on fire while cooking up an elixir, nearly burning the place down. The co got started with help from Tallahassee's Lake Tribe Brewing, who installed Burned Beard's brewing system.Unfused in Canton, OH A new brewery will open its doors in Canton, OH next Wed, Mar 11 at 3PM, reports the Canton Repository. Located in the former site of Canton Brewing, Unfused Brew Hall will give the first 50 guests who arrive a "swag bag." Recall, Canton Brewing was sold to The Brew Kettle in 2023 for $710K but had "moved on from the deal" by last Aug.
